Benedictines Launch Global Jubilee Website
The Benedictine Confederation has announced the launch of a new global website to mark the 1500th anniversary of the founding of Montecassino, the mother house of Benedictine monasticism.
The site opens a digital doorway into the worldwide Benedictine family, enabling visitors to discover monasteries, explore events, and find places of welcome as preparations begin for this important Jubilee year.
Abbot Primate Jeremias Schröder, who visited Worth Abbey last year as part of our anniversary celebrations, described the Jubilee as a moment of “gratitude, penitence, renewal and hope,” inviting all who seek stability and meaning to encounter the Benedictine tradition more deeply.
The website highlights the global reach of Benedictine life today, from its origins in Europe to communities across the Americas, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. It encourages visitors to take part in the Jubilee through pilgrimage, visiting monasteries, and attending special events.
