Celebrating a Monastic Vocation: Br Theodore’s Simple Vows

On Bank Holiday Monday, the community here at Worth Abbey gathered in great joy to celebrate the Simple Vows of Br Theodore.

It was a wonderful occasion, marked by a strong sense of prayer, thanksgiving, and community. A large congregation filled the Abbey Church, including many of Br Theodore’s family and friends, as well as the wider friends of the Abbey and parishioners, all of whom came to support him at this important moment in his monastic journey.

During the ceremony, Br Theodore made his profession of vows, committing himself more fully to the Benedictine way of life in the community at Worth. It was a moving  service, reflecting both the personal significance of the step he has taken and the shared life of the monastic community.

The presence of the congregation made the occasion especially meaningful, a visible reminder of the wider family that surrounds and upholds the life of the Abbey.

We ask you to give thanks for Br Theodore’s vocation and keep him in your prayers as he continues his journey in monastic life.
