Worth Abbey Parish is pleased to announce a series of enlightening talks in support of CAFOD this Lent. These talks will be held at Compass House, located opposite the lowest tier of the Abbey car park, from 2-4 pm. All are welcome to attend, and free refreshments will be provided.
Wednesday, 2nd April George Fitzsimons, Treasurer and Trustee of CAFOD, will kick off the series with a talk on how CAFOD operates from the treasurer’s perspective. This session promises to offer valuable insights into the financial workings and stewardship of the organization.
Wednesday, 9th April Father Aidan, along with two of his fellow monks from Worth Abbey, will share their experiences working in Brighton through the 'Monks in the City' initiative. They will also discuss the impactful work of the Fitzherbert Community Hub in East Brighton. This talk will provide a unique glimpse into the community outreach efforts of the monks.
Wednesday, 16th April Jenny Finlayson, CAFOD’s Arundel and Brighton Community Participation Co-ordinator, will conclude the series with a reflection session on the Jubilee Icon. This session will offer a contemplative space for attendees to engage with the spiritual significance of the Jubilee Icon.
We invite everyone to join us for these inspiring talks and to support CAFOD’s mission during this Lenten season.
Our fellow parishioner and CAFOD Treasurer, George Fitzsimons, will trek 10K to raise money for CAFOD. Please consider sponsoring him. Information on how to donate to his effort can be found via In Touch.
