Pope Francis (1936-2025) RIP
The monastic community at Worth Abbey joins the world in mourning the death of Pope Francis, who passed away on 21st April 2025, at the age of 88.
We pray for the repose of his soul. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
After the nine days of mourning for Pope Francis, which conclude next Tuesday 29th, the monks of Worth will sing the Office of the Dead and celebrate a Requiem Mass for the late Holy Father on Wednesday 30th April. Mass that day will be at 5.30pm
On Saturday 26th April, the day of Pope Francis's funeral, our conventual mass at 9.00am will be offered for the late Holy Father.
