Request a prayer or Mass intention
Each day, during the Divine Office and at Mass, the Monks of Worth offer prayers for the needs of the world remembering in particular those that have asked us to pray for them.
In this way the monks, and all those present at the liturgy, enter into the priestly prayer of Christ who intercedes for His people.
It is also possible to ask one of the priests of a Mass to remember your intention in a special way during the offering of the Mass. In this way the priest asks that the fruits of Christ’s redemptive sacrifice be applied to your intention. It is customary, but not required, to make a donation of at least £10 when asking for a Mass intention and this helps support the work of the Community.
If you ask for a mass to be offered for your intention, a mass will be celebrated on or near the date you request (absolute adherence to requested dates cannot be guaranteed). Please be aware that in a monastery, priests concelebrate mass together each day, with each individual priest having an individual intention. The concelebrating priests’ intentions are not mentioned aloud.
