Are you thinking and praying about making a will, so that your resources can bless many people in the future, once your family’s needs are taken care of? We would be honoured if you would consider a bequest to Worth Abbey.

I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth. (3 John 1:4 NLT)

How do I include Worth Abbey in my will?

In memory and in prayer

A legacy may also be used to cherish and remember the memory of someone very special, through a plaque or naming a building that their legacy has made possible.

Tax benefits of giving to charity

Giving to a charity through your will allows you to reduce the burden of inheritance tax on your next of kin. Inheritance tax is currently (2016) payable on estates valued at £325,000 or over, with tax set at 40% on the amount over this threshold; however, if you donate 10% or more of your net estate to charity, the rate of inheritance tax is reduced to 36% on non-exempt gifts. You should always seek the advice of your solicitors when drafting a clause designed to benefit from this reduction in the rate of tax.

Please let us know

If you have decided to leave a legacy to us in your will, or just wish to discuss doing so, we would love to hear from you! This means we can put it on our records to give us more confidence as we plan for the future. Telling us about your intentions doesn’t oblige you to make a bequest, if you should change your mind later.
